ANNEX 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
The primary operation of the premises shall be such that the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises is ancilliary to the taking of a substantial table meal only.
There shall be in place for the premises a written policy to prevent the sale or supply of alcohol to persons under 18 years of age. That policy shall require any person who appears under the age of 21 years to produce a form of identification, which is compliant with the following:
The card has a verifiable means of accreditation for the information held upon it, i.e. issued by Central or Local Government, recommended by the Home Office or Association of Chief Police Officers, or supported by the Government, for example a photo driving licence, a passport, a PASS card or the like.
The information on the card provides the date of birth of the holder.
The card provides information to identify the holder both by name and photograph.
The card can be authenticated beyond reasonable doubt to avoid acceptance of fake/fraudulent identification.
A notice or notices shall be displayed in and at the entrance to the premises where they can be clearly seen and read, and shall indicate that:
It is unlawful for persons under the age of 18 to purchase alcohol
It is unlawful for any person to purchase alcohol on behalf of a person under the age of 18 years (unless the recipient is 16 or 17 years of age, is taking a table meal accompanied by an adult and consumes only beer, wine or cider with the meal).
Proof of age may be requested at the premises; and those accepted means for proof of age shall be as listed above.
All point of sale staff shall undergo training in the above policy with a record kept of the date of training, signed by the member of staff and the trainer.
Each entry shall be retained for a period of 24 months from the date of completion.
Amplified music shall not be used at the premises.
